Using my droid phone as a wi-fi hotspot |
|
I have the T-Mobile G2 droid phone. I love all it's functionality. It does run on the 4g and 3g networks, and can be quite fast. One thing I have been trying to figure out, is how to use it as a wi-fi hotspot with the intention my wife and kids being able to connect their i-touches so they have access to the internet, email when we are together in a spot that doesn't have free wi-fi. What I've been able to find doing a google search seems to be very convoluted and quite confusing. I assume I need an app? But I want something that is realiabe, easy to use, and doesn't screw up my phone(obviously).

1. T-Mobile might be different -- but with Verizon, you need a $30/mo(?) feature... |

. . . ...and you get a limited allowance (3 GB{?}), which can disappear at an alarming rate if you're using to connect 2 0r more devices. . Find out if there's a monthly fee. DEFINITELY find out how to monitor your real-time usage -- it's not simply time spent but data transferred. . Set an access password, or anyone nearby can suck up your allowance FAST. . T-Mobile's CS (or a store) would be your best resource. . . .
