Sharp, Heavy earthquake just hit here
We've had a ton of earthquakes in the last 6 months, but when they shut down the injection wells nearby, they all but stopped. This is the first one we've had in a while.

1. For any curious about the swarm of activity
http://folkworm.ceri.memphis.edu/recenteqs/Quakes/quakes0.html

It's a listing of the quakes in the last 6 months for the central US. Look how many are in Greenbrier, where I live, and also Guy, which is about 5 miles away.

2. Are you in the region of the New Madrid fault complex?
I'm from southern California - with a bunch of closely spaced earthquakes, everyone likes to say that stress is being released, but you also think perhaps it's just a build up for something major.

Hey - did you ever make any decisions about Shenandoah U?

3. We are 'near' it (~200 miles)
but these are unrelated.

I got into SU, but they decided to put their Doctoral Program in Music Education on hiatus. So..... I guess I'm going to wait, or perhaps work at the University of Memphis. I don't know yet.

Right now I've got to find a closer job. I'm commuting 82 miles each direction. Spending a fortune on fuel.

4. hm. weird. wonder why they would do that?
Any idea when SU might bring it back? I'm sorry about that; hope you find a more fuel-friendly job. We have to go into DC once or twice a week, and it really does get very $$$.

5. I'm not sure
They might have gotten into accreditation trouble with NASM, and needed to restructure things. What's worse is that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing... after I received the letter that they did not process my application due to the program being placed on hiatus, I kept getting letters and phone calls from financial aid, urging me to do this that or the other.
