Sandra Bullock, Other Celebrities, Donate to Japan

http://www.celebrityshortstories.com/sandra-bullock-other-celebrities-donate-to-japan

Five hundred thousand people in Japan remain homeless; one million are without water; one thousand are injured; and over 10,000 are dead or unaccounted for. Japan needs the help of the world, and American celebrities are answering the call with personal celebrity-charity donations.

In a phenomenal expression of kindness and generosity, Sandra Bullock has donated $1 million dollars to the American Red Cross. A statement from the Red Cross reads, ” The American Red Cross is extremely grateful for this generous support of Sandra Bullock and her family. This contribution is vitally important as the Red Cross works to provide critical assistance and essential relief items in this time of urgent need for so many people.”

Celebrity Short Stories Inc. says THANK YOU SANDRA BULLOCK! We knew you had a generous heart, but this is truly amazing.

Sandra Bullock Honored For Katrina Charity

NEW ORLEANS — Actress Sandra Bullock was inducted Friday into a New Orleans high school's "Hall of Fame" after donating tens of thousands toward rebuilding the public school heavily flooded by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Bullock took the auditorium stage at Warren Easton High School to a standing ovation from about 300 people. She said she couldn't take all the credit for renovations after the school suffered $4 million in damages from nearly 10 feet of floodwater from the storm.

"I just write the checks," the actress said, adding she "rides the coattails of people who do amazing things."

Bullock's portrait _ drawn in crayon by her 5-year-old stepdaughter Sunny _ was added to a school hallway alongside dozens of portraits of alumni who went on to become famous musicians, sports stars, judges and doctors.

The exact amount of her donation hasn't been made public. But Bullock called it "the best investment I ever made."

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Gwen Stefani donated $1,000,000 on Wednesday to Save the Children's Japan Earthquake-Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund to help in the relief and recovery effort.

"I've been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and their culture," the singer said in a statement.

"The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years," Stefani added.

A limited edition Harajuku Lovers T-shirt designed by Stefani will be available next week through www.nodoubt.com, with all proceeds going to the relief efforts in Japan.

11. Subhuman, indeed...
...when I posted the stories above regarding Sandra Bullock's charitable donations to the Katrina aftermath & Japan earthquake / tsunami relief efforts, I was reminded of a very recent story about Sheen, from his current "comedy tour," when someone asked him why he frequently paid for sex. He replied with something like "I had millions of dollars, I had to blow it on something."

Not helping people, of course. But he had to blow it on something.

15. Are those real tattoos or does he have a Cracker Jack fetish?
Maybe he just took a handful of quarters to a plastic egg vending machine at the grocery store.
I'm sure this next quarter will get me the "Born to be..." temp tattoo. Damn, another Hannah Montana one.
