The last time the Pubbies pulled this stunt, I knew some people who were hard hit by it, people who couldn't really afford to miss a paycheck for any period. Some of them quit their jobs later, because they couldn't face the prospect of it happening again

I'm a civilian contractor. Yesterday I was told by my federal managers that my work would be unaffected. This afternoon at 3pm my corporate manager called and said to demobilize Monday morning pending further developments. I just came back last week after being laid off since last July.
