I hope it passes in CA next time. I am really curious.

1. I am 57 and have never smoked pot.
I could never get past the smell.

I do wish it was legal.

3. I'm a boomer and never used any drugs! Dan Quayle would be proud.
Except alcohol... and I don't even use that anymore.

I gotta get out more....

4. I was never into the drug scene.
I worked hard for my money, didn't need to spend it on drugs.

I never really drank that much, I only drink beer.

Quess I was boring.

6. I believe there are tangible benefits to smoking marijuana if you've never tried it.
You must prepare your experience beforehand to avoid negative influence. i.e. getting high and watching Headline News...not recommended.

Getting high and unplugging the phone, putting on some music that you kind of liked, but thought was just a little too intense....recommended.

Early on, because of my experiences as an Army medic (and this was LONG before AIDS), I resolved
never to use a needle. Never did.

And PCP (the one time I tried it) scared the SHIT out of me. Never have been able to understand
the attraction of THAT one.

Jeez, were none of you in college in the 70s? Damn, I was in a small private Baptist college and had as much herb as I could stand. I don't do it anymore (it's kind of boring, really), but . . . well, just damn.

12. can't believe we are going to have it here in backwards AZ
you can already get your Dr's rec now, next weekend you can get your state permit and then you can grow or posses, but no dispensaries until Sept.

and apparently you have to have a 10 foot solid fence to grow outdoors (WTF?) although there is no legal provision for inspections.

first ads already appearing in the local alt weekly, complete with stripper nurse model

13. I'm 44 and have never tried it, either
and, really don't have a desire to try it if it were legal or not. I don't really drink alcohol, either.

I do think it should be legal, however.

14. I'm 47 and tried it a lot in high school. It's really not as good
as mushrooms. I don't think I've puffed on a joint in over 20 years. It's just something you get over.

Still, it'd be nice if they'd allow it for medicinal purposes.

16. it's technically legal in denver, damn near legal in the rest of co
denver voters legalized it up to an ounce back in 05, but that doesn't supersede state law, which makes anything less than an ounce a petty offense with a $100 fine and no jail.

in 07, denver voters passed an initiative that made marijuana the city's lowest law enforcement priority.

we legalized mmj in 2000, but a 2006 amendment to legalize it up to an ounce went down 60-40. i think it's going to be back on the ballot next year.

maybe you'll be visiting us :)

19. I have. It only gave me a sore throat
I don't smoke, so after trying twice to hold it in, I gave up. My throat was sore
and I was coughing like a pneumonia patient in terminal stages. It did nothing else
for me (I was 18 at the time), and haven't bothered since.

31. I did, unknowingly
Some friends once laced some brownies with pure hash. Half an hour later, there were on cloud nine, and
I was left standing there wondering what the big deal was. No effect whatsoever. Genetic defect, I think.

21. Never tried it and took a lot of shit for it.
One of those intuitive things. Drugs of any sort weren't for me. I guess it made my druggie friends insecure, so I was hassled a lot. I'm a notoriously light drinker, too.

30. That's too bad
I don't think it's that big a deal if you do or don't, it's not like pot is going to blow your doors off and give you some amazing new perspective. It's fun sometimes, and that's about it. Light drinker myself, just never developed much interest in booze.
