a glimpse into the world of bertha venation (psychiatric stuff) |
|
I saw my psychiatrist today,* and asked her why I sometimes feel high.
Sometimes I feel high, as if I have taken percocet or vicodin. But I haven't, and surely wouldn't ever take them just to get high. But that's exactly what it feels like.
She said that I may be experiencing hypomania, but that I don't have any of the other symptoms because of the mood stabilizers I take. I certainly don't have the productive part of it. I can't keep one thought constant or stay on one task for more than 90 seconds.
She said it is just a possibility.
Weird.
* I have bipolar II.

1. Some of my best friends have bipolar II. |
|
I'm not kidding. It's okay. All of them are terrific, successful people and some of them ARE psychiatrists. Just figure out what works best for you.

3. Somebody just told me that they think Charlie Sheen may have hypomania |
|
Apparently she saw somebody on TV made this connection to him. The person I was talking to said she also has bouts with it.
Since I'm only personally familiar with depression I did a wiki Googling about it.

4. A question asked out of ignorance... |
|
. . . ...but couldn't you just be "having a good day"? . . . I'm not sure that bipolar II nor your meds would/could preclude that possibility. . . . I've seen the extremes of bipolar disorder in a friend. . . . But if I had to deal with a "symptom"... feeling-OK-to-feeling-pretty-darn-good" would be WAY up there on my list of druthers. . . . I hope you're doing well otherwise. . . . :hug: . . .
