1. It's so interesting, I watched this with 21st century eyes

her voice is gorgeous but she's too abrupt, and doesn't take her time with her sexuality (if you know what I mean). She sings the song very energetically but if she'd slow down and make it more 'sexy" I'd totally understand your inference about this being a dirty mind.

Otherwise it feels like any other late 40s-50s entertainment vignette... This woman doesn't "own" her sexuality like Marilyn Monroe or Bette Davis, Katherine Hepburn or Lauren Bacall.... (for starters)

2. Betty Hutton was very active singer and dancer.

She was more into comedy.

She could dance, she more then matched Fred in dancing scenes.
