For all you folks just dying to get an update on my potatoes...here it is
I took the first photo when I planted them in early Feb., The second photo was taken today. I'll be eating them bad boys in about 2 weeks and beyond.

3. I got my potatoes in early but I was late getting everything else in.
The guy in the photo is helping me plant okra and I plan on getting my squash in later today which is very very later for down here. All I need tp plant then is some lima and snap beans.

12. 1 May is considered "early" around here, but I always beat the potato beetles and have a great crop.
So far I've been lucky frost-wise.

10. Don't bend over in the 'tater patch, grannie -
Them 'taters have eyes...

Mom used to say that when she planted chunks of the store-bought potatos that had gone just a bit too long for some homegrown in the late summer.

Apparently, you can't do that with store-bought potatos anymore, unless you get organic or local ones.

11. About half of these came from the grocery store
the other half came from the seed supply. This year both are developing fantastically above ground, I just hope they're doing as well under ground....we'll see..

13. OK this is the last potato update
I harvested my first taters today. I see I probably could have gotten some a few days ago because they're a little larger than I would have liked for the first harvest but you just never know until you dig around the plants. Guess what I'm having for lunch!!

14. All of it beautiful, thanks for the updates.
I grew some indoor last year from cut up potatoes and just started some onions from the roots of green onions at the store this week.

I did the same with carrot tops last year but won't this year. Lovely yard you have there.
