Vegas woman dies after backroom cosmetic surgery
By CRISTINA SILVA | Published: 2:28 PM 04/11/2011

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A woman died after botched buttocks enhancement surgery in the back room of a tile business by two Colombian nationals who were later arrested trying to board a plane back to that country, authorities said Monday.

Elena Caro, 42, of Las Vegas was pronounced dead Saturday at North Vista Hospital in North Las Vegas, the Clark County coroner’s office said.

Her cause of death was not immediately determined, pending toxicology tests and an investigation.

Ruben Dario Matallana-Galvas, 55, and Carmen Olfidia Torres-Sanchez, 47, were arrested for investigation of murder late Saturday at McCarran International Airport, police said.

4. This realy isn't Lounge material - it's too serious. Recent stories have shown
that there are a lot of black market "medical" facilities operating in the poorer and/or immigrant neighborhoods across this country.

5. You're right that it's currently a big problem, but a big "Tile Store" sign outside is a BIG warning
that plastic surgery isn't their specialty.

Reminds me of when a neighbor asked me if I'd cut her hair when we were in grade school. I said, sure! I gave her the awfulest whack job & both our mothers were not happy. It was when the feathered look was in style. Kids.

6. Vegas is apparently full of blackmarket plastic surgery clinics
It's probably just because becoming slightly less sexy than you were when hired will get you fired from your $3-and-tips job serving cocktails.
