:They paved paradise and put up a parking lot" is only clever the first 7 times she sings it. |
|
And I love Joni Mitchell, but really, she overplays her hand about a third of the way through that song.

1. She makes up for it when she belches at the very end. |
|
Most radio stations edit that part out though.

2. Nowhere nearly as annoying as the two covers I've heard. |
|
Amy Grant -- fucking Amy Grant?! I saw her in concert five times when I was a fundy. Gotta give it to her; she put on a helluva show. But I outgrew her when I shed religion. Lousiest cover I've ever heard.
And someone else, a guy, covered it somewhat recently. Lame.
Lemme hear Joni. Court and Spark, one of the best albums ever recorded.

3. I think you're thinking of Counting Crows' cover. |

4. Lame is one word for it. |

Fucking horrendous are a few others. I don't have anything against the Counting Crows in general, but Adam Duritz should have planks inserted under his finger nails for doing that cover.

Thank you for coming into the light! Maybe you could write a survival manual like "Sheeding Fundametalism for Dummies" or something.

6. No need for that book. |

It's in wising up that people shed fundamentalism. They're no longer dummies. :)
