Vibes needed - Our block was just evacuated due to a gas leak -
Edited on Thu Apr-14-11 11:44 AM by haele
Contractors are re-paving the road on our cul-de-sac after replacing the sewer lines, and their heavy road-grinding machinary apparently cracked an underground gas line.
Laz and the kidlet (sick from school today) are hanging out at the park, wondering when they can go back.
But what really worries us is that as the evacuation was so sudden, Laz wasn't able to get our fur and feathered babies together, so they're still at home - and the gas fumes are very heavy. We have a turtle, a cockitiel, an elderly, sick dog, and four cats... And the neighbors across the street who left for work have two little pugs at home, the neighbors next door on either side have dogs (one puppy, one elderly) at home too...
Please, Vibes for all the critters on our block that were left at home while their mommies and daddies went to work or were suddenly evacuated and couldn't get them in the cars before they had to leave.
I'm stuck here at work, and there's nothing I can do.

1. That's terrible!
I'm so sorry that this has happened to you and your family.

As is my personal practice, I've said a prayer for all involved to come out safely. I wish you the very best. I don't know what I'd do if something like that happened to me. My furries are part of my family!!!

2. Well, they're back, and all the critters seem okay.
They're running the fans and opening all the doors and windows to get fresh air in the house.
I told them to keep the vet phone number on the speed dial just in case, Shari and Chuckles (the bird) would be the ones to watch the most right now.
