Poll question: Please don't post your story. Just answer the question: |
|
Have you ever killed an animal with your car?
Please post no tales, no experiences, no roadkill stats, etc. And if you're not sure but you still want to vote, vote no.
Thanks.

At the same time would be unlikely.

7. I've lived in rural northest Wisconsin for damn near my entire life. |
|
Driven since I was 17. Yes, I have done it, only wild critters, never a cat or dog and no, it does not feel good, especailly when you lose a tire in the process.

9. I hit a flying pidgeon one time. I decapitated it but it kept flying for a second or two. |
|
I was shaken for days.
I thought I had hit an animal last week but I went back and found no animal there.

19. By "animal" do you mean to include blind orphans crossing the street after church? |
|
Hey, don't blame me, her parents should have bought her a faster seeing eye dog while she was out selling Girl Scout cookies for Unicef. You know... before they died.

20. Oh, and a follow up question |
|
By "killed with my car" are you only asking about the first impact with the chassis, or does backing up for the second impact count, cause technically I only was using my tires at that point.

And in accordance with your OP, will post no tale or experience about it, it hurts too much to think about anyway.
But - yes.

But hopefully, whatever you experianced was quick. In my experiance, it was. I have also picked up a neighborhood kitty I found on the road that were hit that were still alive and taken them to the emergancy vet. She didn't survive, and the trip was tramatic in iteslf. On a lighter note, a weed wacker and I in the lower back yard have had much more encounters with wildlife than a car. A juvvie bunny hiding in the spring weeds ended up with bad scare, a noched ear and a trip to wildlife rehab(I saw it a year later so I know it survived - they relase back into the neighborhood you picked it up with.)and the kidlet is now caring for a 30-or so year old tortoise I found after weed-wacking the tall grass and catching his shell. The tortoise still hisses at me when he sees me.
