Poll question: Least favorite movie by Quentin Tarantino?
Note that I did not say worst movie by Tarantino, as I have developed a greater respect for Death Proof and its old-school approach towards violent car chases. But if you sought to buy every film that Tarantino directed, which one would be the last in your shopping cart?

1. Death Proof was horribly boring.
He meant it, I'm told, as an homage to the low budget independent thrillers made in Texas in the early 70s. Those movies featured bad acting, real tits, uneven pacing, and sudden jags into violent action. In his movie he lost the tits and reduced the action two just two ridiculous and very short scenes. His supposed "genius" for dialog escapes me. It was realistic, but it was realistically banal. And way too long. And for all the "girl empowerment" ideas he was trying to inject into the movie, he didn't manage to create even one interesting female character.

Tarantino is a synonym for overrated.

2. Death Proof = close-ups of feet and the "Madonna" riff from "Reservoir Dogs."

...I think it was Tracie Thoms (who played "Kim") who went off on this "too many cups of coffee" rap that just went on and on and on and on and I found myself thinking "WILL YOU PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP," and then there was Mary Elizabeth Winstead ("Lee") whining about how her boyfriend likes to watch her pee, and then the endless closeups of virtually every female cast member's feet, as if we didn;t get Tarantino's point in "Jackie Brown" (Bridget Fonda's feet) and "From Dusk Till Dawn" (Juliette Lewis' and Salma Hayek's feet, with Tarantino going "all the way" Dick Morris-style with Hayek).

I burned out on Tarantino. I still like Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown, but he can stick the rest of his films up his perv ass.

10. I'll admit that DEATH PROOF had a few dull stretches...
...but I was mesmerized by the last 15-20 minutes of the film. Zoe Bell is just plain nuts, and Tarantino is lucky he hired her as a stuntwoman before someone else did.

9. never liked any of his films
Way too much unnecessary blood and guts. I couldn't even stay awake through Pulp Fiction.

12. Inglorious Basterds
After various friends ranting and raving like this was the best thing he had ever done, I was very disappointed when the movie started sucking terribly during the second half.
