Poll question: I had a CT scan, and the doctor has not called with the results. Why? |

Hey now, easy does it...
When did you have the scan?
Today is Sunday...
I suspect you're OK and they'll let you know soon. Usually, if the results are less than optimal, they let you know at once.
If you don't hear tomorrow, I'd call.

I had the test performed on April 1. The doctor said the odds are 1 in 20 that something serious is wrong. Mrs. OBD already knows I'm a hypocondriac.
Oddly, the doctor found something initially (that caused the CT to be run) that had nothing to do with what I'd come to see him about.
I am genuinely touched by your concern.

5. Looking at the scan, the doc concluded you were actually a giant cockroach from another planet, |

so he got on the red fone with the Strategic Air Command, and after consulting with top scientists the President decided to nuke your whole town to take you out, together with any other alien invaders, then the military quietly replaced your doc and all his staff with CIA look-alikes, and they locked your real doc and all his staff in a secret facility near Iron Mountain in Colorado so nobody would accidentally tip you off, and that's why it's pointless to call your doc's office, because nobody there is going to tell you anything about your scan

6. In my experience, no calls are usually good news. |
|
Unless you know the doctor and they specifically said they'd call either way. YES, it's always waiting which is worse than anything else. I've had breast cancer twice and thyroid cancer, so know that feeling.

I had a cat scan last year (sinus infection). I sat there and got the results in 10 minutes and doctor showed me what was going on. maybe other cat scans for other body parts are different?
anyway, I hope it does mean everything is okay.

14. As long as my insurance is valid, I'm important to him |

I think he had to perform surgery or something meaningless like that when I had the test. I suspect someone would have called if it were a problem.
I hope, anyway....

15. If it were bad news, the doctor probably would've called right away |
|
I'm guessing no news is good news, IMO.
