It REALLY isn't Monday without photos of a rescued baby squirrel...IS IT?

2. I used to have a "pet" squirrel.

In college, I lived above a music shop with a cool little leafy grotto in its
back yard -- a teeny-tiny little "park" right in the middle of a small town's
business district.
.
I noticed a squirrel (the same one... he had a really ratty tail) watching
me through my second floor window. I started leaving it open a couple
of inches and left peanuts on the sill inside.
.
Slowly... over time... I started leaving a trail of peanuts leading to the arm
of the couch that I studied on. He eventually relaxed enough to sit RIGHT
next to me (a good 8-10 feet inside the apartment) and munch away at
the nuts, though I don't think he EVER took his eyes off of me (I'm guessing
at the gender).
.
I would have LOVED to have had him take a little nap in my arms.

How sweet is THAT?!?!?

4. OK, OK... I DID call him "Squirrely-Whirly"...

And go-cart Mozart was checkin' out the weather chart
to see if it was safe outside
And little Early-Pearly came by in his curly-wurly
and asked me if I needed a ride

I'm pretty sure I kinda remember smoking a lot of pot at the time,
too. Something like that.

I moved before that squirrel tired of free honey-roasted peanuts.

I have three squirrels outside my apartment I've been handfuls of nuts to - one time I threw them only one nut and watched the chaos ensue - they got vicious, duking it out over that one peanut :D How horrible is THAT?!?!? OK I went back to throwing them handfuls of nuts. :D
