5. For some combinations one of them prefers ligatures to tight kerning.

6. Verdana, Arial, Helvetica...
That's what the DU style sheet shows.

The last one really ought to be a generic "sans-serif" otherwise a browser with a sparse font library to draw from might use something hideous.
