Well, I just washed two loads of clothes and towels and hung them out of the clothes line. |
|
So what are the rest of y'all doing.
I meant to wash earlier today but was to busy.
Everything will be dry by morning, it is windy.

1. I'm sitting with the border collie who just had a seizure. |
|
Just need to keep an eye on him while he feels better. He has one every six weeks or so; this was a mild one.

I hate getting a new mouse.
I prefer my roller ball type.
Howdy right back.

27. I had a dog that had seizures... |
|
one of the hardest things was feeling helpless, especially with the bad ones. I think my dog would recover quicker than I ever did. Sadly, it was a seizure that took her from us. Vibes to you and your dog.

Well, I just got home from a poetry open mic, where I had a great time!
Some folks sang or played the guitar, and most of us read poetry. I have completely lost any stage fright I had long ago...
Good for you, doing laundry at this hour.
If I put anything out to dry at night, by morning it would likely be mildewed. It's damp here!

I will be busy tomorrow, and I do need the clothes.
Everything was dirty.
What I do miss is good American made clothes pins.
The new ones are just crap, still have some old clothes pins left.
I would pay extra for good clothes pins.

the Vermont Country Store? http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/products/For-The-Home/Household-Solutions/Laundry/f49856.html?evar3=browseI am a laundry fanatic and was thinking about trying these clothespins. The new ones are useless.

Got a cow down in the pen of my asshole neighbors about 45 minutes away (although really only a couple of miles as the crow flies) and I am hauling hay and water to her, HOPING she will stand on her own soon so I can get here out of there. Normally I would just go pull up and make a ramp to drag her into the trailer, but the asshole neighbors have the only gate I can drive through locked with a padlock (I think I have mentioned they are real assholes) If she isn't up in another day or two we are going to have to drag her a much further distance (and through two narrower gates)with horses and I was hoping to avoid that.
That was this morning. This afternoon I got the last stragglers out of their place (we have been having fence issues for a long time, hoping that is finally over with) plus two of theirs they have never been able to gather. I'll catch them here at our HQTS when they come in for water tomorrow or the next day.
Then I HAD to run to town for a few groceries. I started a batch of sour dough bread today and didn't have enough flour to do the dough tomorrow. Plus we are perpetually low on everything because I never go shopping anymore - kids take the "good" truck to work so I just have them pick up random things every day.
Laundry? oh MAN, I need to do some! Maybe tomorrow. No got a screaming deal on some sucker rod for welding and I have to go pick that up in the afternoon. Oh well. probably out of detergent anyway.:eyes:

I used to love putting my clothes on the line in the sun and wind. Great feeling and they smell great. Got anything else alternative you do like solar cooking? If I had the space, I would.

It is a windy now, windy all day.
I bet the clothes will be dry in a few hours.
You can always air dry some things on a hanger.

22. Went to pick up a pair of geese at the post this AM |
|
Came home, fed the toddler and went out to feed the goats, let out the older chickens and fed and watered the chicks. After that we gathered stone to line the little herb/butterfly garden we put in over the weekend and brought in our laundry off the line.
We took a little break, when that was done, and sat nearby the adolescent chicks while they got a little fresh air before returning them to their coop. My son played near me while i moved some earth from the spot where my husband has been working on putting up our new mini barn/chicken coop.
I turned on the generator and then we came back inside and i got my son something to eat, changed the gosling's bedding and water, made sure the tinier chicks were eating and drinking and popped on here for a little bit before laying down for a quick nap with the boy.
In a little bit, i'll start dinner...ramps and mushrooms over pasta, eat and clean up a bit before heading outside to help my husband build. Later we'll shut everyone into their coops, pens, brooders and houses, get the baby's teeth brushed and send him off to bed before watching a movie together.
We've now spent two weeks off the grid in a small travel trailer at our property and we couldn't be happier.
