Is Gary Busey a nutcase or a savant?

I do think his brain injury still affects him but I think he's got moments of brilliance, too. I was happy he got his hearing checked because I know he was missing so much of what was being said to him.

I will say I have seen Latoya in a new light and I kinda like her. :) It feels weird to say that!

3. He's a sad case and annoying all at the same time.

He was in VH1's Celebrity Rehab (again) a few years back and all season he was laboring under the delusion that he was part of the staff helping other addicts with their issues. Uh, no, Gary...

6. Other. But here's a trivia question

Who was the comedian (?) that made a joke about seeing Busey hanging out in front of the grocery store in Malibu? For some reason, I always remember that when I see Busey, but can't recall who said it or what the context was.

8. I think Busey's got some pretty significant damage.

He reminds me of someone who has Aspergers' Syndrome, though in his case it's brain damage from a combination of years of cocaine abuse (apparently it was epic) and that motorcycle wreck. I imagine he's very smart, but his impulse control and social cueing are just a mess, and he tries hard to create something that comes naturally to others, and then doesn't get why it fails. So he does things like parroting phrases and quoting epigrams where most poeple would just say something.

He genuinely seemed perplexed about why the others couldn't tolerate trying to do something with him, and denied having done some things that he clearly did, not because he was deliberately lying I don't think, but because he doesn't remember later what he does on impulse.

Just my opinion but I've seen similar things. Personally I like him, but whoof...
