Pre-dyed Easter eggs? Seriously?!?
So I walked by the cold case where the keep the eggs in my local grocery store, and there they were, bold as brass: Pre-dyed Easter Eggs!

I mean what the heck is the point of that? Half the fun was dying the eggs together with the kids.

1. It's for the fussy parents.
"MY little angel isn't going to get messy dyeing eggs!" :eyes:

3. People are fucking lazy. Okay?
For a few months I worked in a grocery store. Someone once came in to buy the ingredients for homemade lasagna. On the list, and no I'm not making this up:

aluminum foil pan
pre-boiled noodles
jar of marinara sauce
package of pre-browned hamburger
package of pre-shredded mozzarella
package of cottage cheese

They actually sell all these things. The question is, what exactly is the fucking point of pre-boiled lasagna noodles? Or, more precisely, what is the point of pre-cooked everything that can't be better served by going to the freezer case for Stouffer's?

4. It's possible to make a perfectly decent lasagna without boiling any noodles: just
use standard noodles, dry, and let the whole dish stand long enough to sog the noodles before cooking

5. There are dry noodles that you layer dry, but the recipe just includes more liquid
You bake it normally, and the noodles cook in the sauce. Actually good stuff, and I resent those hot, boiled noodles that tear when I try to layer them.

7. When they are layered dry, the consistency of the
noodles in the finished product is much better. IMHO.

9. I agree, they tend to have more structure
Don't know how else to describe it.

6. Fresh/cooked pasta tastes better than dried pasta.
Different ingredients are also used, eggs are not used in dried pasta.

The pre-cooked hamburger is a little weird, though. I would never buy that.

8. Sorry, I see nothing wrong with any of that.
I've never heard of pre-browned hamburger, though. Hmmm...I'm going to have to look into this. Stouffer's lasagne sucks, by the way.

Signed,
