12. Almost a year now since my mother died.

A year ago yesterday we found out she had a brain tumor and cancer all over. She was gone 6 weeks later. It was a weird feeling yesterday, and I suspect it'll be even weirder on June 6th.

We lost my MIL to pancreatic cancer in a similar fashion. They found it too late, so she had a "short" illness and then passed on. :( Damned cancer.

15. I'm sorry. It's a tough thing...

My mother died six years ago and I still miss her, and my dad just passed away two weeks ago. That hasn't quite sunk in yet, but it will. I still want to call him up every evening to see how he's getting along, like I'd been doing for the past few months since his health started failing, but then I realize I can't do that any more.

My condolences. I really do know how you feel.
