When you hit 700 posts, you would post as quick as you can to get out of the 700s. Can't find the photo that was popular on DU at the time...might have been some kind of copyright issue or something. :hi:

I know Pat Robertson and the "real" 700 club. But y'all made it sound like there was some DU-er by the name of "Pat" that was making your Lounge-life hell while you were still in the 700's ;)

Had I been around then, I think I likely would have taken the opposite route, and savored every single 700 post just because :P

I also remember one Halloween eve when an incredible number of folks reached 666 (maybe dozens). It was bizarre, but in a really cool way.

I remember my 666th post, too. It was about religion. I did no realize the post number until I posted it, so I edited it to make a reference to the number 666.

But I don't actually remember being in the 700 club. In fact, I'm not sure how I ever got over 1000 posts. Is it possible I got grandfathered to 1000 posts, and then started posting more often after that?

I remember having a lot of fun with it--but I really enjoy making fun of Pat Robertson for any reason...

I'm afraid that went by the wayside along with the Daily Thread celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and posting milestones. It was another one of those sweet things that get taken for granted.

I remembered the 700 Club but not the other two. Recently did a search for the old Milestones posts so I can bring them back and that's where I discovered the 4 and 5 digit clubs.

Newyawker99 also had a newbie welcome in her sig line which I may quote in her honor.
