Did everybody see that HAT???
Some wedding guest is wearing the weirdest hat ever -- it's huge and beige and looks like a squid.

WTF?

Not just a guest at the wedding either, that's Princess Beatrice - 5th in line to the throne as things stand.

**Edit**
Now with a different host that's hopefully a little more hot-link friendly (all credit to Bela Lugosi's Dad on b3ta.com for the pic).

7. Artistic License
I don't think the original had the cartoon eyes but otherwise, that's the hat she wore.

8. I guess that's the modern way of saying FU to the hat requirement
most of the ones I saw on younger women are all small caps placed on the front of the head, so as not to mess up their hair. While that squid thing looks weird, at least it doesn't look like a peacock exploded, like the one on her sister's head.

11. Heh. British ladies and their hats.

The good news is, at least when I was living there, that they frequently compensate for their abysmal taste in hats by other sartorial choices that they would make with pleasantly surprising frequency.

13. I think it's supposed to be a cameo. The dress and hat are "cameo pink"
Edited on Fri Apr-29-11 10:55 PM by haele
Whole outfit looks like a throwback to the late 60's Mary Quant look (Twiggy, etc), with the shirt-dress style and that funky collar. I mean, look at her make-up and hair style! big clue there.
I wouldn't be surprised if QEII wore a dress like that (not so much the hat) back in the 60's.
And yes, it looks like it was planned to be a "FU" statement to the royals - very satirical and in a "Pretty in Pink" way - going for that feel of "we're simple outsiders who modified thrift store clothes to fit in with the rich kids".
The pink dress and hat just rode the line between fashion and satire - it was well made even though it wasn't "fitted" right (bustline gapiosis!).
Eugenie's blue dress didn't quite go retro fashion enough (I think she was aiming for Delta Burke/Designing Women), and was a little too clumsy, not fitted well enough, to pull off the satire properly.

14. Rumor has it that the sisters are getting their revenge on the Royal family since
their Mother, Fergie, was royally dissed and not invited to the "wedding of the century"
