I don't know what the Royals did today to incure the wrath of GD, perhaps they beat the Yankees last night? :shrug:

4. George Brett was an outstanding hitter

I still have fond memories of his three-run homer that beat the Yankees for the 1980 AL pennant (and watching Mr. October doubled off second base an inning later to snuff out the last New York threat). An upper deck shot that would be the equal of anything the overpriced pin-striped poseurs are celebrated for, if there was any justice in the world.
