So,Can You Make Money Working At Home on the Internet?
Edited on Sat Apr-30-11 06:46 PM by romantico
I started a post like this about 2 or 3 years ago. I ask because I have only met one person who has. I get these spam emails all the time. "Make $2,500 a day. Make $18,000 a week." 99.9% are scams in my opinion. Here is the one I got today.

As much as I would LOVE to work from home (they really don't need to sell me with so much a day. If I saw an add that said make $50 a day working from home I'd be interested!)I realize these scams play to the gullible and desperate who need to believe.Keep in mind, I do sell some stuff from time to time on ebay and make some extra pocket money, but that is the closest I have come to making $$$ on the internet.

I've never met any of these people who rave about their online business and how they make thousands of dollars before breakfast. Only person I've met is a lady who actually got one of those emails who ended up working from home answering questions for ebay. She set her own hours, worked about 20-30 hours a week and made some decent money. Lost touch with her but she had worked doing this for a good year or more. This is the ONLY person I've ever met who has actually made $$$ from one of these. My question is, are there any out there? Do you know anyone who has successfully made a living doing this?

2. sure, plenty of legit ones
here's one

http://careers.convergysworkathome.com/

it's a legit work from home job. can be pt/full time, pretty flexible.

you would be doing customer service work for a client like directv, at&t, comcast, fedex, etc.

pay probably varies, but I know dtv has good benefits/bonuses that make up for it. also some health benefits, not bad.

easy peasy lemon squeezy.

your friend might have been working for convergys, they have ebay as one of their clients, too!

3. She loved it
She loved it. I was so jealous! She was only looking for a part time job and think she made something like $200 a week. I remember her saying she'd work for 2 hours in the morning and then late afternoon/evenings work 2-3 hours. She did this for 3 or 4 days. She knew if she wanted more $$$ she could just work more hours. What was nice was she and her boyfriend were down to one car so she stayed home while he worked. After about 6 months she was able to get a used car but I thought of her today. With the gas prices the way they are I would love to stay at home and make money.

7. I've been working at home since March of 2004.
Transcription is real work, i.e., you can't just sit at the computer and have the money roll in. But if you have the talent for the work, you can make a real living with it.

9. Prior to disability, I worked from home for Alpine Access.
Really liked the job. It was a regular paycheck, employee status (they took out for taxes), and paid training. That said, there was a lot of competition for the jobs. Customer service is a rough field, too, and there were days when the callers really got to me.

They made every accommodation they could to retain me as my health declined, so I can really say nothing but good about the company.

10. WOw
WOW! I was not expecting this kind of response. When I started this I didn't think anyone could really work from home and make any kind of living. I do know there are people with ebay business and some computer software companies where employees work from home but not as many as i have seen listed here so far. I am definitely going to look into this now. I think (and I could be wrong) that I might actually work harder and more hours if I had the luxury of working from home. Thanks for the replies!
