MiddleFingerMom's day at the beach (with video)!
Edited on Mon May-23-11 04:13 PM by pacalo
In MFM's life adventures, reality often imitates fiction.  In shades of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", one of the patients in MFM's rehab group maneuvered a wild escape plan that included spiking the therapists' coffee with strong doses of pain medication, then taking the keys to the clinic's hospitality van to escape.

Ralph Bennett (pictured below) had his own idea of self-help physical therapy:  put all the patients in the van & go to Rocky Point beach in Mexico.

Here's Ralph...

"Whaddya say, MFM?!"

"O.k.", replied MFM.

A great, fun day on the beach was had by all -- until MFM struggled to put on his traveling clothes to go back to the clinic.  Perhaps too much sun didn't mix well with MFM's demerol medication, but this is how it went down...

2. I just happen to have another video that shows the LAST STEP rehab patients have to go through
to determine if they're physically & mentally able to be released.

because you have shown yourself to be pretty talented at the funny, young lady!

I am predicting they are worth the hassle of the dial-up time sink!

6. OK, I have seen the second one, but the first ...

although I have to agree with MFM, that looks like me on a good day too. You know, it wasn't that long ago that the time it takes to get dressed didn't even figure in the calculation for what you got done in a day. Now it seems to take an inordinate amount of the first hour or so - and that is just for work clothes back up off the floor from where I left them the night before, takes me at least an hour to get dressed for town and I don't "do" my hair or wear any make up :wtf: happened?

7. And the mental part of getting older can be interesting, too -- like absent-mindedly putting
my sandwich in the freezer while I fix a glass of iced tea, going to my backporch to get comfortable, then wondering what I've forgotten. :silly:

One of my favorite movies was filmed in Arizona -- "Murphy's Romance" -- & I like to imagine you as Sally Field's character, sensible, hard-working, & enterprising. Now don't spoil my image of you with modest denial, Kali. :)
