Pa. 8th Graders' Field Trip Includes Hooters Lunch

BERWICK, Pa. -- For one group of central Pennsylvania eighth-graders, a recent field trip to Baltimore included lunch at Hooters – a restaurant better known for its busty waitresses than its food.

The Berwick Middle School students were visiting the National Aquarium last week. Chaperones took them to various restaurants for lunch because the group of 100 was too large for a single place.

The Bloomsburg Press Enterprise reports Tuesday that one group of 15 to 20 students ended up at Hooters.

Superintendent Wayne Brookhart says that while he wishes the group's coed chaperones had chosen another restaurant, he has not received any complaints from parents.

2. hell, I remember a few of us going to that same Baltimore Hooters on a Sophmore class trip in HS
no one raised a fuss about it, and we were only 2 years older than those 8th Graders. Of course I also remember the Priest chaperone (it was a catholic HS) smoking with a few of my classmates as well.

4. And their food sucks. I've been in that one (only once), and their food really does suck.
There are so many good restaurants in the Inner Harbor, why did they pick Hooters?? It's like picking the Olive Garden when you are in mid-town Manhattan.

:wtf:

5. This was not a romantic evening or a family of tourist. This was busloads of kids
your options become much more limited and personally - I'd rather they go to Hooters than any of those lovely Inner Harbour restaurants.

15. When my son was 9, he played in an indoor soccer league that had team sponsors
Hooters sponsored my son's team. They were really good sponsors. They paid for a lot of equipment (including the jerseys, which were very tasteful), had a rep at every game, and threw a great party with the Hooters girls for the kids at the end of the season.

I have to see if I can find that pic of my son with a &%$# eating grin on his face, surrounded by...well...hooters!
