Name a band that you don't like that everyone else does
For me, it's Led Zeppelin. I like "Immigrant Song", but for the most part, anytime I hear them come on the radio, I have to turn the station. I can't quite put my finger on why I don't like them, just for some reason I don't.

A band that I used to really love but now I almost can't stand is Rush. I know that's rock heresy, maybe it's because the classic rock stations seem to play them over and over, ad nauseum. Whenever I hear Rush come on, I cringe inwardly. AC/DC is starting to get that way for me also.

I'm sure that I'll eventually go back to liking Rush and AC/DC. But Led Zeppelin, not so sure about that. Never really was a big fan of theirs to begin with.

2. Same here - They had some occassional good riffs
But overall, I find their music abrasive and the members of the band repellent.

17. Kind of agree with you on Rush
Geddy Lee's chimpmunk voice and those crazy time changes that happen throughout their songs aren't my cup of tea. But I have some friends who are RABID fans so I keep my opinion to myself around them cuz I'm nice like that...

Mainly because I listened to it a lot back then. And I'm not into nostalgia. I like a lot of new stuff though.

11. +1 on Zep. I'm not a big fan of "overwrought". Also...
Pearl Jam--dare I say I hate Eddie's voice (ducking now). The only other times I've heard that much quaver was from junior high schoolers on their first choir solos.

And Red Hot Chili Peppers. They just don't appeal to me.

22. Apparently I'm not alone in my dislike of...
...The Eagles, AC/DC, Green Day, U2, Metallica...(and borderline Rush, although I like them more than I used to, for reasons as yet unknown).

I would add to that Coldplay, even though I almost worship Brian Eno. I am deeply conflicted about that. Perhaps I am ignorant and/or in denial about Coldplay. I just don't hear it.

I also think Led Zeppelin is good through their first 5-7 albums, or so, so, I am in disagreement with the OP on that.

Same with Yes "Owner of a Lonely Heart" - though I like their earlier stuff.

Disco-era BeeGees and any solo Barry Gibb

With a qualifier. Fleetwood Mac was a GREAT band before they went pop friendly. They wanted to make money and theyu succeeded. But it destroyed their artistic integrity.

36. Dave Matthews Band. I hate that band with the heat of ten hypergiants.
All that talent, and all they can write is the most annoying, sing-songy, pedestrian, flatulent and just painfully ordinary radio garBAGE ever foisted on man.

And yes, I've listened to at least 5 albums.

Runner up has to be Phish. DON'T get it. AT all. Must be a weed/shroom thing and I'm just "on the outside looking in" . . . or something.

39. Kings Of Leon
They really seem like the type of band I would like...kind of a throwback 70's sound, but I just really can't get into them at all.

Then a few years ago I heard this awesome song on the radio and I thought it was excellent but didn't know what they were saying. I looked it up and it was that "Sex On Fire" song which has a GREAT sound to it, but those are about the dumbest lyrics I've ever heard. Of course then I found out also it was Kings Of Leon and it all made sense.

I've tried multiple times but just can't like them even though everyone tells me I'm supposed to like them. They just seem like a mediocre band that wouldn't have made it 20 years ago but currently we celebrate mediocrity as greatness because the bar is set so low.

Their first two albums are really good and then their last three are just too pop sounding. They're starting to sound like Coldplay.
