For everbody trying to breathe in New Mexico ....The Sanford -Townsend Band
actually an extremely well constructed and executed song; always was surprised they never had any another big hits....But posting for my fellow Burquenos (and around the state) trying to breathe these last couple of evenings (and supposedly tonight too).

1. we are getting hammered by smoke every afternoon too
makes me feel antsy

that Alpine fire is going to displace the wolves they just released. Dumbasses.

2. It's weird--the afternoons haven't been too bad, but seems every night the wind is shifting
and it gets bad again. Last night was horrible. I had to do some walking around downtown Albq last night and my throat was burning within minutes if not seconds. A friend is playing at the casino near Grants last night and tonight and she said you can hardly see out there.

3. It is very hazy even up here in Durango. Must be terrible in Albuquerque.

5. Wow-hitting Durango too. I love that area; Durango and the whole San Juans
Of course you guys had a real big fire near there a few years ago if I recall. Close to town , right? (Or was it closer to Bayfield or Pagosa etc?)

4. One of my favorite songs ever.
They should have had more success than they did.

I think it was a just about perfect pop-soul song. Guess they just couldn't capture "lightning in a bottle" again. Great playing and singing, and again, just an extremely well put together song.

In fact, I think I'm gonna listen again.Sort of a tongue in cheek reason to post it; we are being smoked out here in Albuquerque (although not too bad so far today) from a distant (hundreds of miles away) fire, but I sure do love this song too.

8. Hi B.B.M.---we got lucky tonight; wind shifted to straight out of the east
blew it away from us...Somebody else's problem tonight (hey, I'd make a great repub : "as long as it isn't affecting me directly, tough shit for whoever IS being affected"). But seriously, maybe it got dispersed a little and isn't hitting anyone too hard tonight. Just got back from a gig doing country swing. Floyd Tillman, Bob Wills...music I respect but just ain't my thing and I had no idea what the fuck I was doing half the time...
