Well, I just rescued my cat Brigid from behind the bookcases in the living room. |
|
They're on either side of the entertainment center. She got on top of one of them and fell behind the TV. She tried to climb back up to the top but couldn't make it because there is nothing back there for her to grab onto. I had to pull everything out of one side and pull it out to rescue her. I'm sure my neighbors really appreciated the noise at 5 am. :eyes:
Years ago, I had to rescue a cat from behind the refrigerator. And about a year and a half ago I had to take my other cat, Patrick, to the vet beccause he caught a leg in a dining area chair leg. He had to have surgery. How do the little buggers get themselves into these predicaments, anyway?

1. Cali once got stuck in an entertainment center |
|
The bottom section had magnetic-closed doors, and she had learned that if she hit them hard enough, they'd open. Well, one night while my mom was visiting, the doors closed behind her and we didn't realize she was in there. She woke up in total darkness and freaked the hell out. She started howling like the hounds of hell were chasing her. My mom, who had been sleeping on the sofa, was stumbling around in the dark without her glasses trying to find the cat (she didn't want to turn the lights on lest she wake me). Eventually I heard the ruckus, hit the overhead lights, and realized where the cat was. She came sauntering out of there as if she meant to get stuck.

2. that's why curiosity killed that cat. |
|
my cat Oberon got stuck in our house's heating duct. He's lucky his little butt didn't fall into the furnace. He was looking for the mice that travel through the duct.

3. Years ago one of my cats got his foot stuck in a heating grate. |
|
Couldn't release him so we loaded him and the grate in the car. As we pulled into the Veterinary Hospital's parking lot, the grate came off his foot.
On arriving home I noticed my other cat was nowhere to be found at almost the same instant noticing the open heating duct. Sure enough the dumbo cat was in the heating system. We had to coax her out in the next room. She went in white and came out black.
Kitties. Always a barrel of laughs.

4. Was the cat saying "Whatever you do, DON'T put the candle back."? |
