They are worried about 'values'

Specifically individualism, might makes right, ideas of if you can take it you are suppose to have it.

They are trying to turn the world into a heaven for thugs and thieves.

It makes sense, the values they are defending, what are they. And to some degree what everyone is.

Not really about history, but about history that might go against what they are striving for.

It is about individualism, they don't want any social order, or any community action to improve anything. Because they are imprisoned in some 'form' and want to break out of that hierarchy, and that translates to blind impetus to strive for Individualism.

Think of a borg that wants to be free, but can not see what has him captive, from that it gets messed up in the translation by the time it reaches the conscious mind, and forms all kinds of weird stuff, and worse, much of that stuff is followship.

So it is really messed up.

Although they don't know what has them captured, so it comes out in other ways.

And I am due beer and travel money, and that really would solve many of the problems.

Although to create a 'heaven for criminals' they must find a way to take from people without it being wrong, that introduces many ways to see other people as 'made to serve them' or even property. And also ideas of burning up conscious.

It also creates the delusion that only some people are 'people' and the rest are something else, monster or something else 'not like them'

It really makes sense. Although I disagree with it.

1. Also how not realizing what is the problem gets it backwards.
The more they get closer to there goal, the further away they get,

becuase they are addressing the wrong problems.

And the 'obelisk shaped monuments' might be like the people holding up a finger. Are they saying something about them, or pointing to the sky.

although that depends how you see it, as a knife, or pointing to life.
