1. I CALLED my father Dad
That is, before he passed away 22 years ago--on Valentine's Day, 1989. :( O8) Sadly, he was a sick man, made so by his parents, who was so absorbed by his own pain, both physical and mental, that he didn't have anything left to give.

12. Me too.
I haven't spoken to mine since the second time he tried to kill me. He's resorted to trying to send communications via other relative on his side so I warned them that I wish to think him as dead and will disown anybody who tries to act as a go-between. I'd had to disown 8 of them already, they're dead-to-me too; I guess his side of the family is as dumb as he is.

I usually refer to him by name or "the asshole".

5. My dad was blind the last 20 years of his life
So although I'd always called him "Dad" or "Daddy" when growing up, in late years I called him "Papa" so he would know it was me.

He's been gone not quite six years and I miss him every day.

6. Right now, nothing. My father has been dead for many years.
But when he was still here, I called him Daddy.

all I can do is remember him. as "Daddy"

And "Mama". I hear people say "My mom", but I'll never call her that, I'm too Southern I guess.

13. Other... never knew my biological father, and I call my step-dad by his name.
My mom and step-dad were together for a long time before they got married, so we always called him by his first name... why call him Dad if he might up and leave some day, ya know? By the time they did get married, it just seemed weird to call him something else. However, he will always be my dad no matter what I call him :)

15. Daddy. He died when I was 12 (41 years ago). My three siblings,
who are all older than I, still call him Daddy. Even though he died when I was young, I feel so lucky to have had him in my life. He was the best Daddy anyone could have ever asked for....

18. Dad, but everyone else calls him Pa.
When I grow up, I hope that I will be half the man he is.

My father is a good man, a good husband to my mother, and a great father.
