Does Anyone Know Any Links To Watch John Kerry Documentaries Online?

I would first like to apologize for not posting this in the John Kerry groups forum, not yet being able to donate to DU this year I wasn't aware that only donors can post in the groups forum. Although its a wonderful reminder to contribute to DU, at at this time my debit card is blocked due to suspicious activity on my account so unfortunately I am stuck waiting for my new card to arrive in the mail.

As a member of DU since 2004 I take donating to DU very seriously and necessary because without contribution from our members as well other like minded individuals,DU would most likely not be as great as it is today.

The reason I am seeking online videos of Senator Kerry is because I was recently given an assignment in my class to research and write about my 'my personal hero'. After doing some soul searching and reminiscing on the 2004 Presidential elections, primaries and his record of service in the United States Senate, I realized that John F Kerry is my personal hero for so many reasons.

I would love to be able to find any video documentary or film that pertains to the 2004 Kerry campaign or John Kerry as a whole. I heard there was a documentary titled 'Inside the Bubble' as well as 'Going Upriver: The long war of John Kerry yet I cannot find links to either.

3. CSPAN is the very very best answer

You can go to cspan - http://www.c-spanvideo.org/congress - Look at the right side for "member search" and enter John Kerry - click on the one and only one John kerry found. This gets you a table of appearances by year - in the Senate and out of the Senate. Click on a year in the table - 2003 and 2004 have many campaign events. These will all still exist. There are many videos that you can still find using google, but over time, many have disappeared and now say "video not available". But many are still there. (Here's one interesting site that I found - http://pcl.stanford.edu/campaigns/2004/dec2004/index.html - pick a topic on the bottom and then select Kerry. (Here one problem is that it is hard to select one short video to cover a topic - but there are good topics.

Going up River was released as a movie - you might check your net flixs, your school or library system to see if they have it.

By the way, 2 other DU JK people and I met George Butler at a NYC book signing for the paperback of "This moment on Earth". One of the others recognized him - clued in by the fact that it was obvious that he and JK were friends. We spoke to him for several minutes - all telling him how powerful the movie was. He was still (as I suspect a good number of JK friends likely are) very upset that the SBVT got away with all they did. His movie clearly counters any attacks that came on JK's decision to protest, but it also counters many lies about his service. (It also puts in context whole issue of JK filming in Vietnam - there is very little footage of JK himself, but they use some of the Vietnam's scenery and of the boats, while NOT in combat. ) He was a very nice man and someone who also sees the Senator as someone he knew who is a real hero.

4. My debit card was blocked a couple of weeks ago

because of suspicious activities. Do you by chance have Bank of America? I called them and was told that I would be mailed a new card. But after 10 days, I called again and was told that I could have the card unblocked immediately, which they did.

Most libraries have a documentary section and loan out the DVDs for free.

9. Try JKMediaSource.org -- a site dedicated to video of John Kerry

I'm one of the moderators of http://www.jkmediasource.org -- a site dedicated to making available video of Senator Kerry, a lot of it video that we shot ourselves to document his appearances at town halls, campaign events, etc. If there's any particular video you're looking for, we may be able to help you get it, though we haven't posted Going Upriver since it's a copyrighted movie. (It might be available through Netflix, though.)
