That goal today - stoppage time at the end of OT - 2 hours of play - against Brazil - a player short --- Whewie! And especially after the bad calls and the Brazillian attempt to stall. - Whewie!

4. I must admit that the impact of the Donovan goal felt more exuberant at the time. |

though I did. :)
Donovan showed the importance of following through and not giving up on a play. He made the early pass, then continued forward to put himself in position for the relatively easy pick up with the goaltender down.
Rapinoe/Wamabch is a terrific cross, and great header - excellent timing!
The cool thing about futbol is that the opportunities to score come so suddenly, and are available practically always.

6. the women's goal was textbook - |
|
it was a thing of beauty - great runs, perfect cross, great timing, great contact & placement on the header.
The goal in the men's game was just a great hustle play by the men, but not really a beautiful goal in terms of artistry.
However, I think the men's goal was more important for the men's team than the women's goal was for the women - the men are still trying to climb the mountain in international soccer. The women have been at, or near, the top for 20 years or so now.
