Health, Wealth Benefits of Early Bedtime, Early Rising Disputed
Wendell Prentiss says he's been going to bed early all his life and getting up before 5:00 a.m. every day. "I've done it for years and years," says Prentiss, 78. "But I'll be damned if it did me any good."

Looking back on his life, Prentiss remarks, "If I had to do it all over, I'd stay up late and sleep till noon. I certainly never made any money getting up early. And if I'd stayed up to watch the Late News, I'd probably be a lot smarter, too."

Prentiss does have good health, he reports. "However, I'm 78 years old," he says. "I spend half my life going to the doctor anyhow."

"Early to bed did me no good at all."

2. Van Cliburn
Van Cliburn would awaken at dusk and practice all night. He obviously didn't have to worry about the downstairs neighbors.

A pretty good piano player
