How does your pet stay cool? My cat Inky licks the condensed water off the outside of cold diet |

coke bottles. I caught him doing it yesterday, now again today. I'm too much of a soft touch to stop him. Afterall he is wearing a fur coat.

1. My dogs sleep in front of the AC vents and eat lots of ice cubes. |

Two of them have very thick fur coats. We only take them out to play in the mornings. Potty-breaks are quick and we stay in the shade as much as possible.

2. One cat is always cold (only 8 lbs., no fat whatsoever), so |

even during a heat wave, she's likely to be found under the gooseneck desk lamp that we leave on all the time so she can "bake". (I swear she's part lizard.) I think only ONCE during the whole stifling month we just suffered through did she finally admit she couldn't take the heat from the lamp and decamped to the living room floor.
Our other cat lies on the bed as still as possible. When that doesn't work, she flattens herself on the hardwood floor. Then she looks up at us pitifully, wondering why "getting low" isn't working. We've tried to get her to hang out in MG Jr's bedroom (the only room with a window-unit air conditioner), but she won't. Silly kitteh.
