List here your former child actors who didn't go thru all the crazy drama when they turned adult
Edited on Fri Aug-05-11 03:53 PM by LynneSin
Examples: Jodi Foster, Natalie Portman and Anna Paquin were all very talented Child actors who now have solid careers as adults. None of them had any drama or crazy years of publically documented drinking & drugging. None of them were tabloid fodder for having series of failed relationships. I think all 3 turned out pretty normal and betwen the 3 of them they have 4 Oscars (although Paquin was the only one to get hers as a child).

Basically, none of them did a Lohan.

List here other former child actors who managed to keep their career after they grew out of their child-like cuteness.

4. MICKEY ROONEY?????? NO CRAZY DRAMA????
Wiki:

Rooney has been married eight times. In the 1950s and 1960s, he was often the subject of comedians' jokes for his alleged inability to stay married. His current marriage, to Jan Chamberlin, has lasted more than 30 years which is longer than his previous seven marriages combined.

In 1942, he married Hollywood starlet Ava Gardner, but the two were divorced well before she became a star in her own right. While stationed in the military in Alabama in 1944, Rooney met and married local beauty queen Betty Jane Phillips. This marriage ended in divorce after he returned from Europe at the end of World War II. His subsequent marriages to Martha Vickers (1949) and Elaine Mahnken (1952) were also short-lived and ended in divorce. In 1958, Rooney married Barbara Ann Thomason, but tragedy struck when she was murdered in 1966. Falling into deep depression, he married Barbara's friend, Marge Lane, who helped him take care of his young children. The marriage lasted only 100 days. He was married to Carolyn Hockett from 1969 to 1974, but financial instability ended the relationship. Finally, in 1978, Rooney married Jan Chamberlin, his eighth wife. As of 2011, they live in Westlake Village, California. Both are outspoken advocates for veterans and animal rights.

After battling drug addiction and a near bankruptcy caused by gambling and bad investments,Rooney became a born-again Christian in the 1970s, after an unusual encounter with a busboy in a casino coffee shop.

5. Bill Mumy
Unlike many child actors, Mumy entered the profession at his own insistence, and his parents took pains to make sure he matured properly in his job. His father, who was a cattle rancher, carefully invested his son's income, and thereby avoided problems encountered by other child actors of his period.

He currently lives in Hollywood Hills, California, with his wife, Eileen, and their two child-actor children, Seth and Liliana.

19. I'd like to add Drew Barrymore although she did have a Lohan period in her life
Drew's mom was the original wretchedly horrible stage mom - she would allow her daughter to go partying at all the big clubs including Studio 57. I think I read where she started smoking at age 8, drinking soon after and eventually turning to cocaine. She ended up in rehab at age 14-15.

Thing is this, after rehab, Drew pretty much turned her life around and is probably one of the most bankable actresses in Hollywood today. So there is hope for people like Lindsay Lohan but you gotta walk away from the hardcore party life.

35. And that's why LiLo is going to die before she's 35 . . .
. . . she simply refuses to say "no" to the Los Angeles club/drunk/hard drug scene. Each escapade is worse than the one before it. It's an endless cycle of futility that she will not get off of.

Whitey died from health issues that seemed to be related to drugs.

Gilbert is actually an accomplished producer and writer, with PBS' Frontline among his work.
