Whoever invented the "glossy" laptop screen should be horsewhipped. |
|
I'm using Mrs R's Toshiba temporarily (I dropped my MacBook Pro and broke the hinge)... The Toshiba is a nice chunk o' computer, but the glossy screen makes it impossible to SEE anything unless you're in a dark room (and are wearing a dark shirt).
And while I'm on the subject, may I mention how much Windows Vista basically fellates donkeys? I tried to "backgrade" the computer with a nice, fresh, legal copy of XP Pro that I own, and it didn't work, dammit. I guess I'll have to spend the $$ for Win 7 to preserve my sanity if I'm going to continue to use this computer, even occasionally.

1. The glossy screen does have its uses - you can watch your facial expressions |
|
in the 'mirror' as you react to GD... :)

2. You can get glare reducing things for the screen |
|
Not only will they cut the glare, they will protect the screen from scratches and crud.
Let's see, the real name is "LCD Protective Film" or just laptop screen protector. Either set of terms will get you tons of hits on Google.

4. If they include the guy who invented Windows Vista, it should |
|
be a cat o' at least fifteen tails.
I tried to "backgrade" this computer (as I may have mentioned) to XP Pro, but it didn't work. I'm hearing more and more that Win7 is worth the upgrade $$, so I guess that's the next step.
Arrgh. I can' wait until my MacBook Pro is fixed (or replaced).
