Despite a genius that could have led to an unbearable arrogance, he seemed to be a supremely kind, gentle and joyful soul.

1. I miss Jim Croce. I played with him once, but that's not why miss him.
It's because of the guy he was.

2. I miss Layne Staley.
I think Alice in Chains could have been touring like the Stones into their sixties.

4. I think tonight he is LIVE At the Double Planet!
That fucking guy could play some guitar.
As far as Duane Allman?
Well I once went down to the Whipping Post, and it was Duane that dragged me there.
I miss them both immensely.

5. "Rickover's Dream" from "An Evening With Windham Hill Live."
There was a certain NUANCE on that SPECIFIC version that isn't present on any of his other versions.

I can't explain it, but it reached right down into my SOUL.

He was right on the verge of "beyond cult status" stardom...guys like David Crosby & Graham Nash had begun to pick up on his genius and fold him into their world.

I always felt that his death was a great tragedy, but not as great as the fact that a musician with his talent never became a "household word."

He was the Eddie Van Halen / Jimi Hendrix / Stevie Ray Vaughan of the acoustic world. He did things that had never been done (and haven't been done since).

If God has an iPod, that one's on it.

8. I miss Syd Barrett
A musical genius/madman.

I will always love Floyd, but sometimes I wish Syd stopped at the edge; I can only imagine what lyrical/musical soundscapes he would have created.
