(Kind of a misnomer, as I didn't actually cop a buzz. I was just lamenting the passing of the last beer and the last cigarette I have right now, and my lazy muse cracked me in the head with the crowbar of introspection, and this came to be.)


Born too early,
or too late
depending on just who you talk to.
Grew up hurried
in a world of
violence and Scooby-Doo.
I was harrowed.

Cold war ended.
I was told
there was no reason to be scared.
Looked inside me
for the first time.
And I wondered what was there:
I was hollowed.

Then I found out I was going to be
what I hated, but always
wanted to be.

With my world upended for the first time
in another's eyes
I saw a little bit of me.
For a moment I was hallowed.
