DU is evolving!

I just noticed, that of all the news sources that I use, often the most up to date, best peer reviewed and most thoroughly cross referenced source for national an international news, is right here at DU.

At one time DU was a rare oasis of reason in a world that watched unconcerned as the compounded atrocities of the Bush Neocon Team kept piling up one after another. It has always been a good source of news, but more and more, I find the stories here. Often when I read a new story on another site, I come here to get the details.

During the election cycle, DU begins to enforce it's partisan roots a bit more strongly, so it will be interesting to see if the news aspect of DU remains so exemplary.

Has DU just become a better format for news? or has the quality of more specific or traditional news sources descended to such a low state that DU looks good by contrast? I am not sure, but while I still go to the BBC, americablog, rawstory, consortiumnews, dailykos, crooksandliars, firedoglake and several others, (huffington and CNN for example) I find myself coming to DU for depth and breadth.
