what's for dinner, du?
i've got some bbq pork chops in the slow cooker, stuff for slaw and baked beans. i'm thinking about making some corn bread, but we'll see how i feel about that when the time comes.

i haven't been cooking much lately and i'm excited for a home cooked dinner :9

8. They constantly sell fresh berries at the grocery store across the street. The raspberries and
blackberries were the size of small strawberries today. very good.

I made a big bowl of potato salad yesterday so we'll continue to nosh on that along with some chicken breasts baked with garlic, lemon, and dijon mustard.
Applegrove's dessert reminded me that we have some cherries, grapes, and strawberries. :9

13. I used not to make it because I thought it was a bit of a bother, but I've discovered
I can take a midsized cereal bowl, fill it part way with tabouli, cover with water to a depth about equal to the depth of the tabouli, microwave it for a couple of minutes, then just walk away for a few hours while the tabouli absorbs the water. easy-peasy, seems to work great, two minutes work yields enough tabouli for several meals -- and no boiling water on the stove in the summer heat

21. My SO had tabouli for breakfast but made me sausage and eggs
Edited on Sun Aug-21-11 02:03 AM by 7wo7rees
I woulda loved the tabouli for breakfast but I got fresh cooked farm ingredients instead. No complaints!
Dinner was leftover meatloaf (which is always better than fresh meatloaf).

On edit: more deliciousness

14. Deep fried whole Cornish hens.
Fixed them in the turkey frier, first time I've tried this. Turned out great! Mashed potatoes, green beans, dressing, and rolls. A Cornish hen is quite a bit of poultry for one person to put away but I finished almost all of mine.

I have three of them left to fight over tomorrow.

16. I'd planned it for a long time.
Bought 8 of the little critters and kept them in the deep freeze until today. If you like deep fried turkey, you'd love this. And like any other perfect meal it looks great. I took pictures. Maybe if I feel frisky tomorrow I'll upload one of them to Photo Bucket so that I can share with you.
