That scene just is implanted in my head. That food was so nasty looking and there is no way feasible anyone could eat 10 year old lumps of black mold and not end up in the hospital.

I think the producers of horders just put pieces of melted dark chocolate in there and told her to eat it.

1. How do we know she didn't end up in the hospital later?
Anyhow, after 10 years even the mold was probably dead and harmless. But still...

2. I don't understand why people with mental health issues are used for entertainment. :^(
It just makes me sad.

(And why do the hoarders even let camera people in to see their homes? Is that the price of getting help?)

3. I think after being on TV all these years they started going for shock value
Because the homes they are picking are beyond repair, beyond redeemable and the people are in serious mental condition.

You're just not going to get a 'happily ever after' watching that show and it's sad.

4. I can't watch it. I just can't. And I think you are right. It has to be about
shock value.

6. My MIL is a hoarder, and I admit to using her (and the show) to get me motivated
Sometimes, I'm not in the mood to clean, but about 10 minutes of hoarders (or one visit to my MIL's) usually incites a flurry of cleaning activity.

7. I have rewatched the episode and I can't up my mind.
If Mom would keep a dead rodent in a butter bowl she might eat anything.

There is a facebook group that discusses this show.

As bad as this show was Matt said a lot of scenes are not shown because they are worse.

I don't won't see anything worse then this.

One person from the discussion board said if there is a deat rat, you will find Matt.

8. My biggest fear in life is Matt Paxton knocking on my door with Robin Zasio right behind him
When that happens just ship me off to the funny farm - I've gone off the deep end!

9. I wish they visit my sister.
She needs their help.

This show makes me clean, and clean some more.

10. Why do you watch that shit, Lynne? Seriously, you need to change your viewing habits
or get rid of your televisions.
