2. Can't you give them two a little privacy?

3. When I was with the 101st Airborne, I was the training NCO...
.
.
.
... kind of a central figure Radar O'Reilly type of job working directly
with and for the First Sergeant and CO. We were a "First Response"
unit and for alerts and deployments, I'd get called first on the list.
.
Once, we got advance notice of a 'surprise alert' -- at like 2 AM, so
EVERY soldier with someone at home was saying his literally last-minute
goodbye in such an ENTHUSIASTICALLY joyful manner that it might
keep a smile on BOTH parties' faces until they were reunited.
.
Expecting a 2 AM call, mine came through at 1:45. EXTREMELY
out-of-breath, I picked up the phone and growled, "THIS HAD
BETTER BE FUCKING GOOD!!!"
.
.
It was my First Sergeant, who laughed and 'reassured' me, "Don't
worry, buddy... they pulled ME off one, too!!!"
.
My (ex-) wife did not find that the least bit humorous and could
NOT grasp why I couldn't stop laughing.
