my general manager sent out a confidential email last week concerning budget cuts to the wrong person. it fell into my lap to get to the guys email and delete it out before he had a chance to read it. mercifully i have everyone's computer and email passwords to get into his computer and get rid of it.

Did the person that received it have a Blackberry? He may have seen it anyway.

3. It's amazing what people ask me to scan and send to them via e-mail |
|
Do they not know that I save their personal stuff to my desktop before I attach it?
I'm talking tax returns, court paperwork, etc.
I try to be discrete, but come on.....

Boss: "Here, Iggo. Put this on the company letterhead, scan it and email it back to me."
Iggo: "Why didn't you just type it on the letterhead, then print it to pdf?"
Boss: "Um....what?"

4. I had a picture of me holding a pillow that looked like boobs, taken in college...a couple years ago |
|
a friend wanted to see it, so I e-mailed it off to her. I didn't check the "to" before I sent it, and it ended up going to a client I was freelancing for -- someone I had never met in real life, or even spoken on the phone with. My friend sent me an e-mail saying, "I haven't seen it yet...did you send it?" When I went back and checked, I died 17 different deaths and then sent another e-mail to the freelance client explaining what had happened, and apologizing, and saying I really wasn't in the habit of sending pictures like that to people I had never met. Fortunately, she was very understanding and found it funny. It taught me the lesson we all have to learn, and fortunately I didn't lose anything from it, besides self-respect.
