5. That is wonderful, and you still call it "wedded bliss"? |
|
That is even better! Happy Anniversary!

9. yup she's my one and only |
|
asked her to marry me 2 weeks after dating her for the first time. I think that you have to work at a good marriage and it's the best job I'll ever have.

20. They say the first 33 or 34 years of marriage are the toughest. |
|
. . . Seriously, congratulations. . . . What an accomplishment!!! What a JOY!!! . . . Thanks for sharing. Stories like yours give hope and reassurance to the most cynical of the rest of us that such things are INDEED possible. . . . It's very sweet. . . .

21. we've had our ups and downs |
|
but the main thing is we never stay mad at each other. We have 5 minute arguments and then move on. We don't hold grudges and we don't bring up the past. I can't seriously imagine life without Annette and I know she can't imagine life without me. This past year has been a tough one with her ovarian cancer diagnosis and the chemo therapy that followed. Then this past March she had both breasts removed as a precautionary measure because she carries the gene that causes breast cancer. She had reconstructive surgery in August and her last procedure is in a 2 weeks. Knowing what she faced I didn't hesitate to retire from the fire service so I could be there for her during all the doctors visits and hospital stays. She is the most important thing in my life. As for you I offer you my best wishes on your continued recovery.

You have obviously learned well the lesson that I, too, learned long ago: Not your fault? Just go ahead and apologize and get it over with! Peace and harmony is more important than being right!
Seriously, congrats, and I salute you!
