Name bands or performers who toured again after their last tour. Ever. |
|
BOWIE "retired." Actually, he's in the middle of "retiring" a second time.
OZZY "retired." Remember "No More Tours?"
The Eagles did a "Farewell Tour." They've toured since, recorded a new album, and are going to tour again in 2012.
Name a band or performer who said goodbye and before you knew it, there they were again.
:-)

Dexter used to always get pissed about something and at the end of a show he'd snarl: "This is the last time I'm ever playing with these guys."
A week later he'd change his mind.

5. +1 ( I still think the greatest lineup was Dex, Crow, and Tone) |

6. Dream Syndicate had actually disbanded after Days of Wine and Roses |
|
but reformed when offered the A&M contract that resulted in "Medicine Show" A very good thing.
A couple of years ago, Wynn wanted to reform the DS. Karl Precoda didn't even respond to him.

If you were to attach a generator to The Who's retirement status, you'd have a whole new source of alternative energy.

11. Simon & Garfunkel. I saw them at Laurel Race Track (MD) in '83 |
|
The tickets were $17 and that was a SHITLOAD to pay for a ticket at the time. Well worth it.

I saw her in Cincinnati, and it was a helluva show!

The Who made final tours an almost annual event.
On edit-I also saw the Who in 78, in Detroit three days after the disastrous Cinci show.

15. I got in a crush in that venue 1989 |
|
chest to chest the crowed surge picked me up carried me 6 to 10 feet before skirting me through the door. I had managed to have my hand up with a ticket in it so I wasn't beaten. The really short girl in front of me was blacking out from being crushed or lack of air.

had to give up an empty plastic canteen, by drunk rent-a-cops at the Silverdome. The show was great but the tension hung like a sword.
