So, the blackout was all part of their master plan....
http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/08/15/blackout.congress/index.html

Seems we need to have a comprehensive energy bill on the President's desk by Thanksgiving. I am sure the bill will address the need to upgrade the power grid, but you can be damn sure that it will also contain (hidden throughout) many give-aways to the Republican's biggest contributors...oil, gas, coal...etc..etc...ad nauseum

I am so sick of these crooked bastards and Tauzin is one of the worst.

5. Yes, I did mean to imply
a "free for all". Privatized and deregulated -- so that we, too, can be screwed like California.

6. Master Plan or Master Non-Plan?
Did this happen because of a conspiratorial Master Plan, or a deregulatory non-plan? Check out http://globalresearch.ca/articles/PAL308A.html

I have no prejudice against "conspiracy theories". Conspiracies have happened many times in history, as any good historian will admit. And certainly the secretive corrupt neo-con artists we've got in the Whitehouse now are about as conspiracy-prone as you can get. But in this one case, I so far see more evidence for an incompetence and deregulation theory.

One important piece of evidence that could help change my mind, will indeed be what else is tacked on to this "power grid modernization" bill.

7. They're MOST DEFINITELY going to be opportunistic
...as you pointed out, as we've seen time and time again. But I have a hard time believing this was deliberate. Blackouts are disruptive, and cost lots of people money...
