Do Your Car Loan Payments Support Repukes? Mine Do!
Edited on Wed Nov-10-04 06:23 PM by K8-EEE
But not next month!

This last week I've been looking up everything I pay bills for as I go along...

Sho nuff Duers, I'm in for 50 more payments to a bank that supports Repuke candidates, GWB & PACs.

Happy endings: My credit union will refi an existing auto loan -- and I might even come out with a couple more bucks every month! I'm going in tomorrow -- turns out they give to labor/union friendly PACs.

My theory is that one-time changes like this can make the biggest difference. I have to pay SOMEONE every month anyway; why not someone who will stand up for working folks instead of GWB?

If you don't belong to a credit union I've seen flyers at Costco for re-fis as low as 3.33! Worth checking out...don't let BushCo profit from your debt!

1. Democrats do a lot more supporting of Republican at that

receives far more than it pays out, it is relatively low in population compared to the Republican States that recieve more than they pay out. If they want to impose their values on the rest of the country, let them PAY for the priviledge.

Given that the largest concentration of gays in the United States live in those states that recieve less money for their tax dollars, gays are also financing the states that receve more money than they shell out. If anyting is obscene and immoral it is denying civil rights to people who are paying to maintain the lifestyles of those who are demanding that those rights be denied.

In fact, out of the 32 states that are winners in the the amount of fedeal funding they get back, 76 percent are red states that voted for Dubya, and 17 of the 20 states recieving the most money from the federal government realtive to the amount that they pay out are red states. Time for doing something about this.

Ten of the states receiving more money back from the federal government that they pay out were states that supoprtedBush by some of the heaviest margins.

Ten of the states that get the least amount of money per dollar they pay in taxes. Nre Jersey et the least. receiving 62 cents for every dollar paid by the state to the Federal Government. Nort Dakota set the most 2.03. The Disreict of COlumbia doe recive much more 6.17, but this is not as relevant as it is not a state, and its population relatively small compared to the states that recieve federal funding.

A report on this can be found at:

http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog/2004/09/red_states_feed.html

though some of us may feel the pinch if we can change this imbalance, the ability to hamstring some of those states that are trying to impose THEIR values on the rest of us (OBVIOUSLY one of those values is not supporting oneself, as they seem to have no proble picking the pockets of those who do not support their values)

Those on DU who live in these blue states might think to start a letter writing campaign to demand that their representatives rectafie this tax imbalance and make sure that those who supported Bush only pay their fair share in the government if they want to run it by their own values.

3. They Worship The Dollar
I really think these one-time moves (changing phone, internet, credit card, banking services) are the things to do now, cuz, to say "oh don't buy anything" is like everyone going on extreme diets after New Years when they're motivated, who's still doing it in 3 months? But this, you just change who you are paying the one time and it takes money out of their payment for the life of the loan.

ANY discernable shift of this kind will have businesses thinking twice about being heavy GOP donors, which helps us AGAIN...

On the coop america site they have "report cards" for businesses and there are a lot of resonsible banking institutions but some (like Citbank) not only support Repukes but a lot of not-nice global enterprises. My car loan (Chase, just suggested at the dealer) is also one of the bad ones.
