Terrific News About The Phone Card Drive For Walter Reed!!

They say that while in early November it was true there was a big need for pre-paid phone cards for the wounded soldiers at Reed, they have since been showered by so many that they are asking people to hold off until March 2005.

They have sort of a hybrid email, some paragraphs are from my orig post at DU!!

If you did send the phone cards, you probably received nice thank you notes as I did; if you didn't get around to it yet, hold off for a bit.

I'm thrilled that this had such overwhelming support, they told me a couple of months ago at Reed they had a need for "unlimited" phone cards last fall and now they're saying "OK ENOUGH!" I think that's wonderful.

In fact I'm going to email Snopes with the thread here, to tell them the origin of most of this was my post here at DU -- so that everyone can see who really DOES support the troops.

2. Probably because Don Imus gave $10,000 to them

for phone cards yesterday. Or at least he announced on his program he was going to. Of course he would have to let everyone know about it but I'm glad he is doing it.
