Can we organize some sort of at-home activism for 1/6 ?
I am so grateful to those of you who are going to Wash. on the 6th. But some of us can't swing it for a variety of reasons.

I can't go to Wash. on the 6th because I'm committed to babysitting my grandchildren that week (actually I'm caring for my daughter and son-in-law's three parrots, but they are my non-human grandchildren). This is something I promised to do months ago and can't cancel. It's killing me that I cannot be involved somehow, as I am sure can be said for many others that won't be able to make it for one reason or another. Is there something that those of us stuck at home can do, a mode of at home activism? Perhaps at a specific time to make sure it's perceived as an organized protest, using our computers or phones? Send a message or call somewhere en masse at the same time?

Any ideas? I'm sending money for the lawsuits--but I want to do something significant on that day.

1. I like the idea
Perhaps a fax and phone campaign, bombarding congress and news organizations with letters and calls of protest?

2. more effective?
would it be more effective if we could send thousands of call and faxes to just a few significant places? Seems it would make a bigger splash.

How about a message to the major networks that they can no longer ignore us--or something to that effect.

3. yes, I think you're right
We choose a few places in advance. We need to discuss the election problems and how we feel the outcome is illegitimate.

5. Calls and faxes better
But phone calls and faxes get far more attention because they jam up the lines. Emails don't have that effect. The recipients can get around to reading them when they feel like it.

11. Make the places public.
If they're public, then their records must be open to the public and the phone logs will be there for all to see. Also, target the phone lines of at least one major paper.

8. i'll make calls all day
what time are they casting the electoral votes? maybe we could flood the offices of a selct few Senators with calls. I think it has to be a concentrated effort to get their attention.

Look what just one group did (I forget their name) flooding the networks with complaints about televisions shows.

7. the key to this is getting MOVE ON to participate
we can't reinvent the wheel.

they're set up to mobilize millions to do just this sort of thing.

our efforts are best spent to blize moveon now and get them to take it over.

16. You have any ideas how to do that? I have sent dozens of emails to them
about election fraud and nothing happens. I know I am not alone in this. Others have said the same thing. I thought with Conyers stuff they'd finally get on board.

We Can prove it

GO to a busy intersection in your town And get some attention. If you want write a press release for the local media. I went to FLorida to work for 3 weeks--Kerry/Edwards campaign, I recruited dozens of folks for Visibilty teams--HOnk & Waves if you will--heck we did it back in 1972 for McGovern.
PS--- wink--- no acitvist is for real untill you some 24"by 36" white poster board and some magic markers in your vehicle. Then you are ready to Rock.

Here is me in the middle holding the "We can prove it" sign--

17. Contact your media outlets. Tell them to turn on C-span and watch
the election get contested in Congress. Do it a half hour before. It's at one DC time.
